Hope

The search for a smile, all the day through.

Secret searchlight please show me,

one warm face among all the cold.

For it would be worth more than any treasure on earth.

Not to be counted, or traded or held in your hand.

Given freely, given completely

No diamond, gold, emerald or ruby,

but a simple smile, one human kindness,

grant me, I pray, that I may last another day.

To the absent minded, tunnel vision herds,

kindly take heed of these words,

A smile can take but a moment, and can last a lifetime.

Lift up your eyes, please look around.

Be the hope in Pandora's box, the hope to be found.
