All I need is hope,

The will to keep trying.

A belief so strong

It would keep me alive.

To wait for the rain

To quench my thirst

To shield the sun

To find food

To start a fire

To lure in ships

Or a plane from above

To take me home.

Hope is all I can have

It means there is a chance

That I might be saved

Rescued one day

And find my way home.

Without it I’m done.

No more power to fight

or survive another lonely night.

Once it’s gone

I can see my end.
