Hope

If I could change one thing
This is what I'd do
I would take some hope
And wrap it up like new
In a pretty box
With strings, and ribbons, and bows
And take it to the people
The specific ones of those
Who need a little hope
In a pretty box
Who need a little light
To break the many locks
Who need a little love
To melt the ice away
They just need a little hope
To get them through the day.
To get them to tomorrow
To get them across the line
To chase away the nightmares
To get them through the night
So I'd change the lack of hope
And give it out like it's free
Because I know how it feels
To not have hope for anything.
