Homesick
I am homesick
And yet at home
For the walls to whisper to me
Sounds of childhood past
Laughter and memories
Tip-toeing down hallways
Sharing secrets in bed
Time capsules buried in the backyard
Aside goldfish long since dead
Where do all the memories go
When the people who make the house home leave
Away yet still alive
I am haunted in this purgatory
This poem is about:
Me
My family
