Homes
Since moving to this faraway place
Such a short time ago
I've found some things to remind me
Of the place I call home
The flowers in the trees
Are the same as the ones that grew
Under that desert sky
That was the same color of blue
When I close my eyes at night
And listen to the nearby waves
I remember the wind that moved like a ghost
That rustled the dry leaves
The creatures appear different
But their personalities are the same
They inch closer and closer
Hoping I'll give them a name
And now that I'm here,
Seeing all I have seen
I know I have two homes
That each fulfill half my dream
