Years of lost time

Quietly echo

Sentiments of regret,

Remorse,

And a vague sort-of hatred.

I wanted to tell you,

The world is much larger

When it’s just

You and me.

Ivy climbs up the walls;

Bright red doors give way

To sterilized cream halls

That continue on and on,

An obstacle course for the blind.

Fingers entwine- I’m never scared when I’m with you.

Choking embraces follow

Gentle caresses

Fingers braid my hair

Allowing goosebumps to flit across my

skin.

Buttercup walls reflect

Sunshine smiles, and

Bruising pain leaves room

For midnight confessions.

I’m both loud and soft.

You know.

My feet wander over the street,

And I drift towards an ending.

I am just heading
