When my day is less than perfect

Which is more often than I'd like

He's there with a reality check

To tell me it'll be alright

 

He knows rainy days depress me

So he brings the sun inside

And we shut the whole world out

Even if its just for a night

 

I remeber when I told him I love you

We were drunk and I think I cried

But he said it back without hesitation

And I knew this boy never lied

 

He's not very good with expressing feelings

But I do not mind

The way he looks at me is enough

I know his thoughts are kind

 

I don't see him as much as I'd like

Distance is the hardest barrier

But I never feel that he leaves my side

For my heart will always be his carrier

 

And he always makes me laugh 

Without ever truly intending

His little quirks and friendly dispositon

Always loyal, never pretending

 

And I swear he can read my mind

And knows when I'm not alright

Comes to the rescue with just the right words to say

A modern-day shining knight

 

And when the world seems too big

And I feel too small

In his arms I'm just the right size

In his embrace I forget it all

 

And with every crazy idea

And all the plans I constantly make

He reminds me nothing is stopping me

And says my dreams are mine to take

 

He's inspiration personified

The end of my worry and strife

My love and best friend

The happiness in my life
