High and Dry By Joshua Dolash
He scowled at crew men and adventurers from Belfast harbor;
He wore a grudge and plenty of despair from a lonely past
That pain of rejection was like a wound infected
Especially when he heard them holler, “Anchors away!”
That was the last phrase his father would say,
Before he’d embark with glinted eyes of the sea;
But that day was a final goodbye from land to ocean,
For he left the family with nothing but a humble business all frozen.
