Hiding

What is behind that curtain you pull over your face

Behind the shadows, you call disgrace

Why do you hide the smile that dares to show?

You don't allow the  happiness in you to grow

You despise yourself

But why

Why is it that you won't let yourself cry

You cut off  all the feelings so you don’t feel the pain

But If you don’t feel the pain then with joy it is the same

With cutting off the bad the good disappears.

You wonder why you are here

Why you need to fight to till the end.

You are in a never-ending war

Struggling to make out of the darkness

The river of red has flown down my arms

in a trickling stream

I have looked  death in the eye

Mocked the angels above

and yet I don't dare to taste the bittersweet taste of life
