Hidden In The Shadows
There’s a smile on my face and an air of confidence about me
But that’s not me.
The real me, well I keep her hidden
You must dig deep
Beneath the smile that’s painted on my face
Underneath that perky confident glow
Keep looking, she’s hard to find, but don’t worry she’s there
There she is
She’s hidden so well sometimes I forget she’s there
The real me, is incredibly insecure.
She overthinks everything
Second guesses every move
I try to keep her hidden
I do a pretty good job.
Because the truth is,
I don’t like her
The truth is I am scared I will become her.
