Hi

I sat alone ghastly and gaunt,

Waiting for true love to come knocking on my pane.

“It gets lonely here you know”

I whisper to the quiet night.

“When you have no army behind.”

Out of the darkness

She rose.

She rose from the depths of Tartarus,

She was Aphrodite, No question about it.

And she walked!

Oh, how she walked.

With an air of confidence leaking from every step.

No one could stop her

No one tried

As I gaped like a codfish,

Then swallowed my pride.

“Hello”

“Hi”
