Hero for a Dad

I wish I was a little bird

So that I could fly away.

I'd go to all the far off places

Where my daddy has to stay.

You see, my daddy is a hero,

He protects the land we love;

Along with all his comrades,

Some of which are now above.

Each and every night you sleep

So peacefully in your bed,

My daddy is out there fighting

So the innocent don't end up dead.

I know that other's need him

And I'll have to say "goodbye",

Since it won't be forever,

I promised him I wouldn't cry.

"Don't be sad my little girl

We'll never be apart.

No matter how far I travel,

We'll always be close at heart."

I wish I was a little bird

So I could fly with him someday.

Me with my wings, him in his jet,

I would bring him home to stay.
