Here Nor There
Let the cold descend from the steely sky,
For I cannot feel its gaze anymore.
My feet may walk upon this frozen plain,
However, I traverse no real distance.
Falling back in time with every slow step,
But always remaining where I began.
Passing slowly by in the swirling snow,
Are reminders of why I chose this path.
Wind clouds the distant horizon from sight,
But, why then be here if it could be seen?
There may be others in this icy plain,
But they are too obscured by snow themselves.
Through all my musings I stay in this place,
For I wish to again see my own face.
