He'll Be Okay

Blue scrubs, white coats

Frantically running around.

“Don’t worry,” they said, “he’ll be okay.”

My heart is hanging like a wire

And my brain is filled with emptiness.

I look around to see if I’m the only one

Feeling this way.

I see a woman

And tears are streaming down her face

Like raindrops on a windowpane

I hear a man scream from far

Like a thunder cloud.

I can’t stand it.

I just can’t.

The atmosphere in the room was so thick,

It was swallowing me up.

I walk out.

I went into the nature

and shut my eyes and smell in the fresh daisies.

I hear birds singing

And lilies dancing in the wind.

For the first time since I entered the empty white prison,

I feel calm and at peace.

However, when I open my eyes,

The lilies weren’t dancing.

They were withering and hopelessly crying for help.

The gloominess of the sky is radiating out and into me

While the thunder is shouting at me.

I hopelessly gaze afar like an empty soul waiting to be taken away.

Finally, I hear my calling.

I walk back in, with a heavy heart,

As I await for the news that is brought upon me

whi I silently chant,

“He’ll be okay.”
