Heart's True Heart

Heart’s true Heart

Trying to play it all tough

But I’ve had a freakin nuff

You keep giving that gift wrapped crap

And treat me like a petty sap.

Wounded and bleeding

Troops I stop beating

You keep coming and coming

Wish I could rest from this running.

You laugh and think I’m headed hurt, for the hills.

True in part, but clarity alludes your skills.

My miles do grow  tiresome and  long

But God made me sincere and strong.

I am set to keep pace and run this race.

Retreat has no prize, but I do.

Regret lacks joy, not me though.

You smirk, but I smile.

In truth my race is hard, but going well

But your eyes are blinded, you won’t ever tell.

You see a disgrace

I see a long race.

I see you blow, bud, prosper and grow

I just wish you could see my heart glow.
