A hearts fear

Sometimes I get scared
Not of dying or a dangerous thing
But of losing a bond once shared.
The kind of bond that makes your heart sing
Sometimes I feel afraid
But not of the dark
I'm afraid of falling and being played
That one day you'll wake but not by me
That your smile would fade by my side
If only you knew what I've had to see
And not just studying me like a slide
Maybe you'd understand my fear
I'm more than what meets the eye
Scared that it'll all end with a tear
Watching you leave without a final goodbye
