The Heartbeat of Gravity in the Sheets

Can you hear it? The endless loop of heartbeats that follow you when you’re alone? Those are my fingertips, tracing the path to your heart. Let me in, let us give in to our desperation.I’ll be your dream, you’ll be my fantasy. Let’s create a love the world will never see beyond these walls.Curve to curve, skin to skin, teeth to lips.We are the same blood-stained defects we were when we landed on these timeless sheets. But this time, let’s enjoy it. Come on baby, make me take your hand and float back into gravity.I want someone to believe in and you want someone to hold.My hands can break the lonliest thoughts, wash away the God forsaken oil that taints your skin. Can you hear it? The echoing downspiral of screaming that hides behind my mask? They're my eyes, begging to seen as someone instead of something.Let me out, let us trust each other and no one else.I'll be your soul and you'll be my spirit.Let's create a dream without human nature stitched at the seams.Heart to heart, tear to tear, imagination to mind.We are the same artists we were before we slipped through the cracks of traditional society. But this time, we'll laugh with joy.Smile, my darling, wish for me to be your only company in our weightless gravity. Are you listening?Or are you only hearing me?

My favorite part of this poem is the very beginning. Need and desperation have a thin line and an almost unavoidable intensity; I think a lot of people can relate to that feeling.
