Boom... boom... boom
The rhythm I hear
As I press my digitus quartus against my ear
Consistent, it never betrays
To return just as before, days after days
So loud and so clear
At times, it develops within me great fear
Boom... boom... boom
It reminds me that I can be ripped apart
Slain to death just by removing my heart
So with being mortal, are we not just meat and bones?
This idea is bleak, however, at least I do not stand alone
If religion is false and I merely join this planet's soil
I imagine I will still hear the vibration, from an orchestra, of billions of hearts boil
Boom... boom... boom
