"Heard"

A scream echoes through the dark of the night,

Shattering the peaceful silence,

Frightened by the cry I ran to find out what was wrong,

Turning the corner to a dark ally I saw it all,

A woman lay on the floor tossed carelessly as a man loomed over,

Terror set in as I took in the scene,

Noticing me from where he stood he turned to face me,

Then with a devilish smirk he turned back,

Bending to kiss her face,

Then soon disappeared into oblivion,

I ran to her side to assist but I was to late,

The damage had already been done,

her beautiful face was pale as the midnight moon,

Not a single breath slipped within her red lips,

Torn with grief over an innocent victim,

I quickly called the police hoping for help,

When they finally arrived to access the crime,

My worst fears were affirmed,

Dead.

All the signs of a struggle was a brutish bruise,

Marring the once glowing skin of her side,

And deep marks on her neck,

They didn’t see hidden behind her halo of golden hair,

But I did and I swear,

This was by no mortal but a villain sinister of the supernatural type,

But no matter to what my belief,

Nothing can cover my guilt,

For not coming sooner,

And stopping this uncalled for murder.

Please sweet child forgive me.

And may one day your death be avenged,

And the creature responsible feel the full force of his actions,

To harm a sweet daughter of God like thee…

May God be merciful upon him,

Because I promise I wont be.
