hear me speak

Hear me speakBy: Mattlyn Droll

Quiet is the tongue cut looseWhen women mean less than the gooseSo somber she thinks to herselfAs she lays her school books on the shelf Only change can make people insaneOnly war can make people want moreOnly silence can make you hearBut not only words bring tearsWhen anger is not held by fearsAnd the words appearWhen tears run blood redAs wet and cold as the rain But when life becomes newThe skies turn blueWords are spokenEvery one of them trueAnd suddenly, your faith beholdsYou now have a heart made of goldHold on to the bird before it fliesCalling to the ducks in the skyLeave your duck voice behindAnd become an amazing ray of sunshine
