Healing a Broken Friend

Needle and thread

Needle and thread

I pull the string as I push your pieces together

Through eyes that are wet

I look at your broken body

That I collected from the streets.

They've hurt you and beat you

Torn you apart

And left you here defenseless

You'd given up

I found you silent,

Refusing even to look me in the face.

Needle and thread

Needle and thread

You'll be whole again, I promise

You're sitting so still

As I patch up your wounds

As I pull you back together.

All of you is here

It's just a little scattered

But that's okay,

I'll fix it.

A kiss on each seam

And a lullaby whispered

To calm the fears and pain.

Needle and thread

Needle and thread

I'll never leave you broken

No matter how bad it is

I'm always here to mend you.

You're so sad

You're so hurt

You're so done fighting for your life

Needle and thread

Needle and thread

Pulling you back to existence.
