He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

A thousand miles away a boy sits typing

“I love you”

The screen is lit for a moment before the response comes

“I love you too”

The boy smirks

A lonely girl says things she shouldn’t

Breaks rules she couldn’t

She can’t breathe

Anxiety controls her

Making her check her phone every minute

Every second

No response

He loves her

No, he loves her not

A mile away a boy sits typing

“I love you”

The screen is lit for a moment before the response comes

“I love you too”

The boy smiles

A anxious girl picks up her phone

Her hands shaking

Her mind racing

She can’t breathe

Anxiety controls her

Keeping her awake

Dreading her past mistakes

Her phone rings

She can breathe

His sweet melody lulls her to sleep

This boy she planned to keep

He loves her

Yes, he loves her
