Have You Seen Me Lately?

Buried —

Mixed with Earth.

It's hard to remember

What this is all worth.

But the price we pay

For a cheery day

Comes at the cost of life.

I give my life to you

Let it be a sacrifice

To keep rainy days at bay,

"For now I will be your sun,"

I say.

My heart was over used

It's expiration date was due.

It was only a matter of time

Before the world claimed

What you claimed mine...

As you tempt the ocean,

Let the waves be my tongue

Caressing you still,

Passing the length of you

At the leisure of my own will.

Voices will hum

Along the canyon walls

Pick the one

You hear above all.

I will shout my love for you

Letting it echo

To reach skies of blue.

Tuck your soul into my soil

Feed me your laughter

by way of air,

Throw away your worries

and forget all your cares.

I didn't die for you to mourn

I died because I had to.

There's no words to explain...

I know that my time was

Well spent with you.

At least you have me now

Still locked away deep down.

I can't leave this Earth,

In soil I am bound.

I can only be apart

Of what I hope is the start

Of long summer days

Still being caught in your gaze.
