Have You Ever?

Have You Ever?

Samantha Stevenson

I heard that when you die you see a light.

A light that shines brighter than the sun even at night.

A light that brings panic on some occasions fright,

A light that some let go to, or hold back with all their might.

Everyone must wonder about this luxuriously terrifying sight.

The world is afraid of death you know, that’s something no one can fight.

Have you ever stopped to ponder about life after death?

What happens when you take your last final breath?

When your heart stops beating in your chest?

Do we suffer, haunt, are we at rest?

Have you ever stopped to wonder about your “God” above?

Is he really there holding a key to unconditional love and sanity?

Have you ever stopped to wonder maybe there’s just a higher power.

That higher power looks at us as we look at them?

Do they worship us? Pray? Go to Church every Sunday?

If they don’t, will their fate be to burn in the depths of Hell like you threaten non-believers?

Have you ever stopped to wonder about that verse in the Bible everyone ignores?

That verse in which he wishes not to be worshipped, but treated like any other mortal?

Have you ever stopped to wonder about Satanists or Atheists?

One worships lucifer, while the others miscellaneous?

Have you ever stopped a Satanist and asked them why Lucifer?

Asked them for their side of the story?

Why worship all of the blood, torture, and gory?

Have you ever stopped to wonder how Lucifer is a fallen angel?

That maybe why Satanists worship, is because they believe in second chances?

Have you ever stopped to look at each other?

Do you see how you objectify one another?

Religion is not what the world is made of.

God didn’t “die for our sins” to hear complaints from us.

Have you ever stopped to blink to think,

we’ve been fighting religion for thousands of years and it just won’t swim or sink?

Not everyone will always follow in your footsteps.

Not everyone will always be a saint.

Have you ever stopped to wonder about your kings?

Have you ever stopped to wonder about any of these things?
