A Hand

Heading towards the tunnel
That is growing narrower by the second,
The pinpoints of moments in my life
Are flashing and crying out to me.
All I see is bad; all of the good memories
My vision grows blurry with the shock,
Fear, and gut-wrenching sorrow.
I can’t breathe.
Yet I continue to walk, far, far away
From the horrible circumstances
That I was objected to;
From the terrifying moments
That you made me endure…
I am drowning in despair,
In a pool of merciless actions
Committed by you.
I am gasping, grasping for a hand
That will reach out and pull me up,
But I can’t seem to find a hand worth taking.
