Never before have I seen such joy,

Joy in the midst of sorrow,

In the midst of pain,

Of poverty,

And of desolation.

How do they do it?

Live in huts,

Die of heat day and night,

Suffer from illnesses,

Wonder when their next meal will come.

And yet,

They're happy...

So happy their love and joy

Is nearly a tangible feeling.

They are content.

Satisfaction doesn't require wealth.

The latest fashion is the last of their worries.

They don't care about what car they drive,

Or who styles their hair.

They care about being with people they love.

Happiness doesn't need to be anything fancy.

It can be as simple as picking a flower,

And giving it to someone.

They realize giving brings joy.

And that carries them through the rough parts of life.
