Growing Up and Paying Bills

For so many years I was a boy

Content to play

But alas when I got my first job

Suddenly I had bills to pay

First there was the rent

Packed in an ancient Boston apartment it was much too high

Then came the car

Shall I lease or shall I buy?

Factor in gas and insurance and you can see the car cost many bones

However it was nothing compared to the monster that came next

That beast we call Student Loans

A lesser man might say that it is his parents to blame

For at the end of the day you see

I have $65,000 in loans in my name

However what life has taught me so far

Is that you are responsible for your own fate

And so I believe that if I just work hard enough

I’ll find a way to pay the bills before it’s too late
