Gossip

penetrating glares are pointed my direction,

their harsh words whispered to the familiar face

their cheap perfume that stinks

but attracts nevertheless

I taste the horrid bitterness

of their cringe-worthy laughs

I touch the tip of my tongue

to keep my own words from escape
