Goodbye To My Boat

I miss you so

when you are gone

I cling to the memories

of laughter

of times left untarnished

by falling out

it wasn’t quick

or all at once

I’ve gradually floated away

while you stayed at the dock

our boats

who once collided

are being carried away

I drift

until you are a dot

on the horizon

your features blurred

by the distance

your face

once familiar

is now unfamiliar

strange

I don’t know you

not anymore
