Goodbye

What I never got to say will never go away

as something I regret

as I continue

to be.

The warmth has escaped and

spring's not the same

when made to stay

alone.

The crescent has gone from the sky,

fallen into a nightmare which

lingers like a fog of

memory,

Everything you stood for is clear,

your rhythm beats into the

night, your melody has

grown.

Returning to coda is your plan for loss,

We will sing and play your life

in minds to bring your

peace.

I miss you.

We miss you.

I owe you, still,

and you owe me, too.

The story you never told me

leaves me curious and

lonely

and now everything is a paradox

because your rhythm has quickened

yet the beats have slowed

and the chorus plays on but

the last note is

so low.

When your song is so upbeat,

you led me to believe

that everything

repeats.

Like some natural resonance,

the way you first taught me,

The swing between us

goes on without

your push.

The love you had

remains in

us.

The pain we feel

may soon

rust.

If only your song would play again,

we could all laugh and

the crescent would

shine

and all would repeat

and you would

smile.
