Good Morning Poem
The way I get up every day
With a yawn - a stretch - a scratch
Greeting the morning sun with a grimace
Reaching for the last tendrils of sleep
Dreams slinking back into the shadows
Mind foggy from a satisfying nights rest.
Sitting up takes effort - energy - necessity
Tightening of the muscles again; then release
Music dances through the house
The sun peaks its eyes through the window
Children lazing about while I wake
A bowl of cereal for me awaits!
