Gone by Tomorrow

Mon, 01/04/2016 - 11:03 -- Dreaa97

She was only 17 when she started falling in,

He was twice her age and she saw it as a sin.

Never really wanted to confess…

the way he made her feel cause he made her such a mess.

With every day she grew an attachment in her and she barely had a clue.

Even with a guy by her side that she thought she really knew,

He was just another player with bitches and a crew.

In and out of jail like it was nothing new.

5 months in and she finally said, “We’re through.”

Couldn’t really handle another lie and It wasn’t even hard for her to say goodbye.

She walked away head up with pride,

Didn’t even realize she left him for another guy.

Weeks have gone by and she doesn’t waste time,

At night in the dark she does all her crying.

Always has to front with a defensive shield,

Doesn’t want to worry people with the part of her that’s been killed.

She walks the halls through school with a hint of shame,

Sad how the people she called her friends made her insane.

Labeled her a hoe cause she broke up with her ex,

Labeled her a ghost cause she was just a mess.

Labeled her every name in the book,

Making judgments based on her look.

18th birthday came around and she knew what to do,

Had to drop all these groupies she called her crew.

Learned to forgive and move on,

Had no one but herself to rely on.

Told them they’d miss her once she was gone,

Gone by tomorrow to every person who had done her wrong.

Now she’s looking at this man with a broken smile,

Holding back her tears, always in denial.

Wishing she was older or maybe he was younger,

With the way he made her feel every time he hugged her.

Scared that he’d be gone by tomorrow,

Leaving her all alone filled with sorrow.

Vents to him on her weakest night, darkest moments,

He tells her “Stay strong keep in focus.

Don’t let the haters keep you from achieving in life,

Someday you’ll make somebody a great wife.

But live in the moment and keep trying,

Wipe your tears and stop all the crying,

Walk the stage and graduate with success,

You got no one else but yourself to impress.”
