Gone at 18

**Note: This has also been posted on my blog (www.thefacebookorjj.blogspot.com)
Can't believe it's been 9 months
This time went by too fast
I wanted you to reach out to me
To tell me you missed me

I'm turning 18 soon
In 3 months to be exact
Then it will be exactly a year
Will you call and try to say you're sorry
And ask to be my mom?
Will you say that you still love me
When you've never showed me how?

I don't know what to about the situation
It's out of hand
I wanted to have a perfect relationship
At least while I still can
But after chance and chance
I gave up on you

I can't be your daughter
And when I turn 18 then I'll be gone
Out of your hair
So your wish will be granted
I'm sorry it took so long

I'll be an adult
I don't need you in my life
I haven't for 17 years so why should I start now?
