Give Me A Reason

She wipes them away constantly

Fearing they’d show weakness.

She was taught that when

She acted weak she wasn’t as strong

But she didn’t feel strong at all.

Her pale skin glowed under the night’s sky,

Black and blue bruises show now,

Where she’s been hit and thrown to the ground.

She wasn’t loved, there was no love,

She was left to the side

Like a bird with a broken wing.

Helplessly she fought to find

A reason to live.

In a world of pain and anger,

What’s supposed to keep you going…
