Girl Through the Looking Glass

Location

I see you. I see you every day when our eyes meet.
I look in the mirror and see you there.
I see myself, but I know you're there.
I look inside and there you are.
You are not near, but I know you're there.
And when I dream, you come to me.
I see your face and kiss your lips.
You are like me, but you are not me.
You are another and you are out there.
Somewhere.
You are the girl I see through the looking glass
The girl on the other side of my mirror.
I see my reflection, but that's not what I search for.
No, you are not me. But you are like me.
You are like me and that is why I need you.
No one truly understands me
I am an unwanted mystery in the lives of many
But not you. No, you understand me.
Because you are like me.
And when I draw, I draw your face
And when I wish, I wish for you
And when I write, I write your name.
I do not know it, but I know I will soon.
So instead I write "Looking Glass Girl"
I look for you everywhere I go, but I have yet to find you.
So I continue to see you in the mirror
Because you are like me.
And I am like you.
