The Girl Behind the Filter

Location

Behind the filter are tired eyes,

Eyes bags so big, without the filter you can't help but notice it's sag.

Behind the filter are worry lines from stress stress stress,

Stress from the billion people I just have to impress.

Me being authentic behind that filter of mine is a girl just trying to survive,

Life should be more than that, I deserve to feel alive.

I'm young and should live a million lives,

But instead I am slowly losing my drive.

All everyone sees is that filter, they don't know what i go through.

But what I'm writing, this is me being authentic, me being true.

The filter is all they will ever see,

They will never truly understand what goes on with me.

I'm the girl behind the filter and I'd like to keep it that way,

But what I offer you is authenticity, what more can I say?
