A Genuine Smile

I can imagine what it's like to laugh,

I always try to keep the pain away,

my smiles show only half-

of what I'm actually feeling today.

But, I do know of a place that makes me smile,

a place that feels like home,

No matter how many miles-

I spend away from it, because I tend to roam.

This place lies within a very special person,

A person who has claimed my heart,

He saved me from my thoughts that were sure to worsen,

His smile engulfed me right from the start.

He makes me laugh until I can no longer breathe,

and makes it seem like life is a breeze,

the pain no longer exists, it's as if it's in an sheathe,

and my heart happily agrees,

to his pleasing expertise,

of truly pleasing things.
