The G in LGBT stands for Gods

He is Dionysus as he changes in the school's locker room

He pulls his binder and packer out of his bag while the pink skirt is shoved in the back of his locker

He drinks to forget about his dysphoria and his parents who insist that he will always be a she

When he knows that he never was but he wears the girl like a mask in his own home

She is Aphrodite for just a few moments as her lungs fill with water

The three girls who mercilessly bullied her post in social media

She was too young, it is such a tragedy, I already miss her

They wear shirts with pictures of women embracing women as lovers and the school attends her funeral

The only time they ever care about her is when only the memories are left

But their memories are full of moments of friendship while the truth remembers the moments of teasing

He is Apollo as he speaks loudly on the stage, he is as bright as the sun

His shirt hides the welts that were left by a leather belt

And as he looks out at the audience he notes that his parent's faces are missing

Choose a side, he will come out as fully gay before the year is up, so do you want to have a threesome

The words cut at his soul as he displays a bright pink, purple and blue flag but on the inside he is quickly falling apart.

She is Artemis as her bare feet hit the cool dirt as she wanders alone.

She is content without a partner and keeping all of her relationships platonic but echoes of society bounce around in her head.

To love is to be human, something in her most be broken, you aren't a part of the queer community.

Heterosexual is considered normal

Homosexual is fighting to be considered normal

But she is never even considered, how could she be so certain if she never tried, how did she know she just hadn't met the right person.

How did one prove the lack of something and why does she have to prove herself?

Like the Gods that have slowly faded away, they wait in the dark for the day they can stand hand in hand in the light and not be judged for who they are.

And like the Gods they will only wait so long before they take their lives into their own hands.
