Today I wait for a future, that I wanted yesterday

"It takes time" I say as I think how I can't take back yesterday

It pleases me to know this as I don't want to change

It seems I'm stuck in this loop of want, need and change

Today I think of the future and how it ought to be

and how my woman is everything I need her to be

She is with me in my dreams and everywhere I go

She lives inside my heart as I take her on the go

Today I travel to the future; the only things I see

Its just me and her, the kids, and the dog that I see

I hold her so close and she shines with her light

I brush her hair behind her ear and she radiates with light

I wish this was yesterday
