Futile Teaching

Location

We've all had a teacher who gave a test with many questions

About information that we haven't learned in any of our lessons

Sometimes they may ask a question about the constitution

But you've studied for a quiz on World War II

Or who was the commander of the Continental Army during the American Revolution?

What are we to do?

If you had taken science in the ninth grade

Which was three years ago, a distant memory

Perhaps about vacations or the games you've played

How are you supposed to remember the Law of The Conservation of Energy?

The most common question throughout generations is

How will this help me later in life

Maybe I could use y=mx+b to figure out the ages of my kids

And multiply it by nine to find the age of my wife..

It seems like we learn many unnecessary things without any reason

But somehow, most of us make it to graduation

When we forget three fourths of what we learned in one season

What is to come of our poor nation?
