To a friend

Trapped within four walls with nowhere to run
Who can I run to
Parents you won't talk to because you're afraid of their judgment and ridicule
Who can I turn to
Lost in a world not sure where to find myself
Who can I comfy in
But then I met you
In times of need I run to you
In my darkest hour you are my path to the light
These verses we write I found me
The lost little girl trap within those walls and her thoughts
But through you I also found the strong young woman I have become who is no longer trapped
You are my friend, you are my confidant and through you I have found pieces of myself only you can reveal
That dark day I found you I knew you would change my life forever
To my friend
My pen
I thank you
