Freshman Year
I look back at my freshman year
Blind and as ignorant as can be
To believe there was nothing to fear
My mind was exposed as far as I could see
Sightless like a bat
I flew with my heart wide open
Believing nothing could change that
Optimistic way of hoping
That kept my spirit afloat
Like nothing could affect me
Untouchable, in a boat
But the truth isn't such glee
To learn and experience life more
To grow with the power of knowledge
You open more than just one door
Oh goodness, college
This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community
My country
