What is freedom besides a word?

How does one achieve freedom?

Is freedom just an expression?

Perhaps it’s the opposite of depression.

Many have fought to defend it.

Millions have died trying.

But we take it for granted.

We don’t appreciate what we’ve been handed.

Freedom is an opportunity.

Freedom is a blessing.

If we don’t honor those who’ve defended it,

If we don’t care enough to appreciate it,

Then what is it so many have fought for?
