Forgive Me Professor
Professor please, do not reprimand or mock me On why I still don't have my homework from last week try to see the reason beyond my consistent tardies
You see... While you lecture on the importance of classics, battles, and variables Life,in its tangible and intangibles, teaches lessons volumes beyond the confines of this government mandate
While scribbling notes on the section in bold is a task that remains to be done Life has lessons yet untold Things textbooks cannot hold
So forgive me professor, but this place is a jail and even after 12 years, we haven't been granted bail on the contrary, we pay for Yale Pass or fail, school has no avail it is an institution
Your formulated world cannot teach what it does not know there are more important things than the symbolism of Poe and Henry David Thoreau
There is No formula for a smile No solving for 'x' in laughter No further analysis needed for tears and no thousand word essay to capture a hug
Forgive me Professor, when I miss school Trips to the movies, the mall, the pool Playing hooky like Monopoly and what the heck is a joule?
Forgive me, Professor When my book is no where in sight The poem is not ready to recite when I forget how to write, neat and precise.
Last night A came a friendly phone call, the goalie saved the winning ball, the play had one last curtain call, listen to the rainfall
Please forgive me Professor when I sleep in class you want to drop me on my ass but I just wish to lay in the sunned grass
Please do not find this rude or unmanaged attitude but see this life has more matter than just what is made of atoms I really dont need the stress of the test, being thought of as less, being an over-whelmed mess
So forgive me, professor when we forget the due date come to class late make you irate turn assignments in postdate forget the capital of Kuwait
Please do not respond with hate Practice the innate, love. Try to understand there is much more the learn and better time to be spent in the present.
