Forget-Me-Not Canvas

It’s a picture in a broken frame,

The one we’ve tried so hard to get rid of,

To make it better, to forget.

It’s where we started-

But don’t want to end.

We want to become someone

Bigger than ourselves,

Overcoming every broken frame,

We strive to thrive-

Not to be crushed under pressure

When push comes to shove.

Forgetting the photo-

Means we have to disown ourselves,

Forgetting how far we’ve come,

And just how far we’ll go.

How much we’ve fought

The odds and pressed on,

Taking the fight head on

To become something we’ve

Only dreamed of becoming.
