Forge Ahead

The road lies barren,

I alone travel.

The sky cracks and moans,

The trees stubbornly resist the wind,

I forge ahead

Another flash,

This one had hit it's mark.

Trees burst,

The storm rages,

The sky rumbled it's victory,

I forge ahead.

Darkness closes in,

Lightning screams across the sky,

Rain pelts the ground,

I must go on,

I must try,

I forge ahead.

Frozen and alone,

The trees stubbornly refusing to move,

I forge ahead
