The forest the size of the world
A soft breeze flows seamlessly
Through a forest the size of the world
A tree feels the featherlight touch
The generous moon places upon it
Acorns and leaves grace the branches
Treasured by those that dwell
Among the forest the size of the world
Time goes forward, as it does
And the forest together gazes as one
Towards oceans and mountains and galaxies
And a tree looks up to a star
Tiny droplets and rocks and stars
Are not oceans and mountains and galaxies
The Squirrels and owls alike return to their branches
As the forest the size of the world ponders
The tree knows the great answer
A tree is a world, a forest a galaxy
The sun breaks the surface of the ocean
A possum leaps from one world to the next
The forest the size of the world moves on
And the tree that was a forest has already fallen
