The Fool I Was

I thought I knew you

But what I knew was I lie

A beautiful one, to say the least

The fool I was for believing you

The traitor you are for decieving me

Reality has become an illusion

Memores turn to delusions

I thought I knew you

But I only knew a side of you

A benign silhouette

That diminishes when exposed to light

Like an eclipse;

Obscuring the truth

Whose secrets reveal themselves at convegence

I thought I knew you

But it was a mere refraction

A facet of a diamond

The fool I was for seeing a murky glass

Tragedy has awakened me

Trust has forsaken me

But loss reverbates here in my heart
