Flow

Like fish in a river,

my body moves swift.

Along with my mind and soul,

my dancing's a gift.

An escape that was created

by those who carry a heart so broken.

The movements produced

are considered one's token.

As I sway myself

like palm trees in the breeze,

my heart begins to float,

my body is now pleased.

From the abuse and anger

my family display,

dancing is my key

to the gate to freedom-what my mind portrays.
