a flirt

Mon, 02/12/2018 - 20:33 -- aneles

dear firefly,
you are such a flirt.
as soon as darkness hits,
you make sure you're the first thing I see.
you come close,
flicker your light,
float above my head;
you make me chase after you
you draw me in.
I set you in my sights.
you're the one I want;
everything else fades away.
And then you disappear.
I should have known you'd be just like
every other flirt in this world.
you're nothing more than a tease.
you draw me in,
just to fade away.
goodbye,
firefly.
